"Whether one is young,
of middle or advanced age,
even if one is ill or actually weak -
everyone can begin with the Yoga practice."

Hatha-Yoga

Yoga is an about 5000 years old Indian teaching, a guide to free us from suffering. The body exercises (Asanas) and breathing practice (Pranajama) originally served the spiritual men to stabilize the body and to deepen the concentration in order to be able to remain for long time in the meditation posture. They noticed that the exercises have positive effects on circulation, nerves, breathing, digestion and hormone system and on the psyche. Over centuries the Asanas were further developed comprehensively and in this way for instance in the XV. century the body-oriented Hatha Yoga as a distinct type of spiritual Yoga evolved.

Kum Nye - Tibetan Yoga

Kum Nye is an old Tibetan healing method. It connects breathing exercises, self massage and gentle movements to an effective way of exercising towards the relaxation and healing of body and spirit. The Kum Nye exercises offered by me are based on the teachings of Tarthang Tulku.

Everyone can practice Hatha Yoga and Kum Nye independently of age and physical condition. Exercising Yoga in an exaggerated form is wrong at place. It only requires perseverance, in order to learn the correct execution of the Asanas and to practice them regularly.

Yoga consists of body postures, in which one remains for a while. The emphasis is on keeping a position, not on repetition. A correctly performed Asana is marked by the following characteristics:

  • correct sequence of movements of each part of the body
  • good distribution of the body weight on muscles and joints
  • balanced tension of the muscles (in order to avoid high blood pressure)
  • co-ordination of respiration and movements

All this is important, in order to bring about the desired physiological changes in the body through these Yoga exercises.
